In the face of shrinking civic space and limited funding, Youth Concern on Environment and Development (YCED) continues to empower young people to advocate for an Afro-centric, equitable energy transition. This quarter’s highlights include bold grassroots resistance to corporate impunity, advocacy against rights violations in Uganda’s extractives sector, and ongoing mobilization under the Community Engagement on Energy Transition (CEET) campaign.

The newsletter also sheds light on youth-led protests against the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), unjust compensation of displaced communities, and the urgent need for implementing Uganda’s National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights.
